Researchers have started calling it synthetic peer aggression — bullying built with generative AI, rather than just amplified by social media. It covers AI-faked nude or explicit images of a classmate, cloned voices used to humiliate or extort, and impersonation of both students and staff. Unlike a lot of the digital risks we cover on this blog, this isn’t an emerging concern. School leaders are already dealing with it, right now, in real hallways.
